SHIPS COLLIDE

The Otranto, outward bound from Immingham for Nortvay on a pleasure cruise, Avith a full passenger list, collided Avith the Kitamo Marti. The Otranto is returning to Grimsby. The Kitamo Maru has sent a wireless message that her oavu damage was serious, and that she is returning to the Humber. FURTHER PARTICULARS.
LONDON, August 12. The Otranto’s passengers Avere dining Avhen the collision occurred. The contents of the tables Avere throAvn everywhere. The second impact occurred shortly afterwards. Many rushed bn deck and donned life-belts. Though the extent of the damage was unknown, there Avas no panic. The Avomen Avere particularly calm. The Otranto’s- boAvs suffered Avorst damage. The vessel Avas stationary for half an hour while the damage was being ascertained, thereafter returned sloAvly to anchorage. A special train took the passengers to Midlands, and London.
Seamen aboard the Kitamo Maru were asleep in bunks, one sustained a fractured leg and spine.
