Owing to the confusion of the present civil aircraft marks and call signs, changes are announced, beginning on January 1. .'Die Australian aircraft have combinations from V.h. to V.M.: New Zealand from Z.k. to Z.m. ’PLANE DROPS ON ’BUS. (Received August 11, 10 a.m.) VANCOUVER. August 10. A New Westminster message states that, an unique accident oeeurrent When an aeroplane crashed down hundreds of feet on to a 'bus, loaded with thirty persons. It w’as a miracle not one was hurt. The pilot was only shaken. AIR FORCE COMMANDS RUGBY, August 10. The following changes in the higher commands of the Royal Air Force are announced: — Air Marshal Sir John Salmond has been selected to succeed Air Vice Marshal Sir Philip Game, as Air Member of the Council for Personnel, at the beginning of January next. Air Vice Marshal Sir Edward Ellington will at the same time, succeed Air Marshal Salmond as Air Officer Commander in the chief air defence of Great Britain.
