COBDEN SCHOOL JUBILEE

TO-MORROW’S CELEBRATIONS

The Cobden School Diamond Jubilee celebrations commence to-morrow morning, with a church parade to the Church of the Resurrection. Ex-pupils are requested to fall in at the Cobden School. A combined thanksgiving service will be held in the evening m McKane’s Hall, at which the Greymo nth Municipal Band will render the following : —Hymns, . “Rock of Ages and “Nearer My God to Thee ’ ; selection, “Suplication” ■ hymn, “Jesus Lover of My Soul’’ ; selection, “Sacred Souvenir’’ ; hymn, “Abide with Me ; National Anthem. A collection will be taken to defray expensesSchool colours to be worn are red and black. On .Monday, at 1.30 p.m., the school children and ex-pupils will leave the Cobden State School for the Cobden Domain, where a sports meeting is to be held. Runanga and Cobden Schools’ senior basketball teams will play a match. . A social and dance will be held m the evening, commencing at 8 o’clock, in McKane’s Hall, the prices for admission being gentlemen 2/6, ladies 1/6, onlookers 1/-. Dancing will be oldtime until after supper. The grand re-union banquet is to be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m., and will conclude the Jubilee celebrations. in the event of Monday being wet, another day will be selected for the sports.
