SOME NARROW RESCUES. (Per PrcßH Association.) GISBORNE, July IG. Mr and Mrs John O’Grady 'had a close call on Saturday night, when the house they occupied at Kaiti was destroyed by fire. So dense was the smoke that Mrs O’Grady was overcome and had to be assisted out with her young baby. O’Grady then rescued his two-year-old son just in the nick of time. The occupants saved nothing.
