Mrs T. Crankshaw, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned on Saturday.

Mrs Brian. Davis. Shakespeare Street, is an inmate of the Grey Hospital.

The health of Mr O. Hill, of Omoto Road, who entered the Grey Hospital a few days ago, is improving.

Mr Judd, manager of the West Coast Farmers’ Dairy Factdry, who has been visiting Wellington and Auckland, accompanied by Mrs Judd, returned on Saturday to Greymouth.

Mr S. Frickleton, V.C., formerly of Blackball, recently retired from the New Zealand permanent forces to take up a position with Amalgamated Dairies Ltd.

Mr Sinclair Trotter, Engineer to the Grey Power Board, who has been attending the conference of Power Board Engineers, at Wellington, returned on Saturday.

A London cablegram records the death of .Sir Westby Brook Percival, who formerly was Agent-General for New Zealand in Britain, and also was for a term Agent-General for Tasmania.

The death took place at the Grey Hospital, yesterday, of Audrey Gwendoline, the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Percy Pascoe, of Cobden, at the age of fifteen months. Death was the result of diphtheria.

Recent arrivals at the Albion Hotel includeMr, Mrs and Miss Gainsford (Nelson), Mr and Mrs J. Scott, Mr and Mrs Lewthwaite (Christchurch), Messrs Smith. Miller, Dunlop (Ashburton), V. J. Tanner (Wellington), C. A. Cooper (Christchurch).

Mr J. Miller, Registrar of the Supreme Court in Christchurch, who was recently appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate, will leave Christchurch on July 9 to relieve in centres on the Main Trunk 'line. He will then take up his permanent duties at Masterton on August 1.

The United Football Club is tendering a farewell social to Mr and Mrs H. L. Jamieson, in the United Pavilion, this evening. Mr Jamieson, who is an old member of the Club, was recently relieving at the Reefton branch of the National Bank and leaves to-mor-row for Christchurch, whither he has been transferred.

The funeral of the late Patrick Kennedy took place at the Ahaura. Cemetery this morning, and was largely attended by residents from all parts of the district. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Munchin’s Church. Totara Flat, and the service at the graveside was taken by the Rev. Father O’Meeghan. /
