RUNANGA NOTES

Mr J. Price returned to Runanga on Saturday after spending an enjoyable holiday. A meeting of the Bowling Committee was held in the clubhouse on Tuesday evening. The work during the close season has been satisfactory. The green has been top-dressed and tho banks made higher. Everyone of the bowlers have to be commended in getting the work finished early. It. was decided to hold a smoke concert on Saturday, July 7. The meeting of all those interested in forming a Scottish society was held in the Druid’s Hall on Saturday evening. Mr W. Robertson was voted to the chair. It was also recommended to have a. Burn’s Club and 4o hold a social Evening on Friday, July 13, in the Druids’ Hall. As this is an open night, and election of officers, it is to be hoped that there will be a large gathering. A number of dancing enthusiasts attended the Blackball Soccer Ball on Friday night. A most enjoyable evening. was spent, and special praise is due. to the committee for the way in which everything was carried out. Runangaites who were there should fake a copy and put it in practice as decent, supper arrangements are badly needed.
Tho Presbyterian Church concert p; rty are visiting Brunner on Friday evening Io give the Brunnerites a programme of solos, humorous sketches, etc. of unusual merit. As this conc< rt. was voted one of the most successful ever held in Runanga. Brunner is in for an evening’s enjoyment second to none.
