TOO STRONG LANGUAGE. (Special to "Star.”) AUCKLAND, May 31. “Although bad language may be customary in mines, it will not be tolerated in games played under the jurisdiction of the Whangarei Rugby Union,” said the Chairman of the Management Committee when conveying to the Hikurangi representatives, the Committee’s decision to suspend for one Saturday, a third grade player who was ordered off for “chipping” the referee. The Committee was of the opinion that most of the trouble experienced at Hikurangi was due to the language used by the spectators. A resolution was passed that the Hikurangi Club be advised that the language of players and spectators at Hikurangi was “beyond all reason,” and if repetition was reported, the Union would re-consider the venue of matches arranged for the Hikurangi ground.
