FARMERS’ EXCURSION
It is expected that the West Coast farmers and their wives and families, who will leave Greymouth by special train on Saturday for -Dunedin, will number approximately 400. The visit to the Dunedin Winter Show is the main event on the official programme, but the excursionists will probably find many unofficial visits just as enjoyable. One such event will be an inspection of the drapery and clothing stores of Arthur Barnett, Ltd., in George Street, who extends a cordial welcome. An additional interest for West Coasters is the fact that the manager of the firm is a Coaster himself. He is Mr S. Lawn, a brother to Mr Frank B. Lawn, -of Greymouth, and a son of Mrs Lawn, for many years a Greymouth citizen, and now residing at Wellington. Farmers and their wives aro advised to make a point of visiting Arthur Barnett, Ltd., during their stay in Dunedin. —A.D.
