(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.)
STOCKHOLM, May 29.
By a majority of 11 votes, the Second Chamber has passed an Industrial Peace Bill, abolishing the right to strike, under heavy penalties, and creating a system of compulsory arbitration by State Tribunals. Labour bodies say that they will ignore the law, and they predict that it will ensure the return of the Socialists to power at the next elections.
CHINESE PIRATES,
HONG KONG, May 29.
Details of the Tean piracy show that the pirates boarded the steamer in Hoihow Harbour, securing control, and taking the vessel to Biacbay, where the pirates landed the booty and the kidnapped passengers. A British warship arrived and the pirates fled, leaving the prisoners and considerable booty.
