MEETINGS
LODGE MEETING. 1.0.0.F.N.Z. The fortnightly meeting of the Golden West Rebekah Lodge was held last evening in the Druids’ Hall, Sister L. Ogilvie presiding over a good attendance. Three candidates were balloted for, and general routine business transacted. Regret was expressed by members when it was announced Sister E. Grant was leaving for Wellington, as she had been a -Trustee and a keen social committee worker, but as pointed out several Rebekah Lodges in Wellington would permit her to continue her activities in the Order. Sistei’ Smart, in the absence of Sister Cornwall, reported that the sub-committee set up to form a syllabus had met at Sister Hopgood’s, and evolved a six months’ programme, which they hoped would bring the irieinbers closer together. Syllabus provided for cards, musical evenings, also a mock banquet on the occosion of the Lodge’s first birthday. A “hardup” social as an open night would also be held; she announced the social sub-, committees had arrangements well in hand for the combined annual ball. After the meeting, members held a friendly card match, the winner of the prize being Sister A. J. Black.
