GRAIN AND PRODUCE. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 27. There is little change to record since the mid-week in produce values. Wheat is quoted at 5/7 to 5/8 on trucks, with North Canterbury a penny more. Offerings are freer than recently due to the amount of threshing that has taken place during the past few weeks. During the week, there has been some inquiry in regard to the millers’’ offer of 5/11 a bushel f.o.b. for next season’s Tuscan wheat, with advances of 3d and 9d for Hunters and Pearl. There are no reports so far of contracts being signed up and millers on their part are not pushing the offer. Fowl wheat is quoted at 5/7 to 5/7J f.o.b. Lyttelton. There is no change in the value of oats, but A’s are firm and very few are offering. A Garton’s can be bought at 3/11 f.0.b.5.i., but this allows little margin for export. B’s are worth 3/G f.o.b.s.i. for coastal shipment. From 3/3 to 3/3Ad on trucks for A’s and 2/11 for B’s is the average quotation, B’s being a shade easier. There are few decent sample duns abouly and 3/4, on trucks, is available for quality stliff. There is no change in the small seed market. Potatoes have recovered slightly from the position recorded last weekend. The Kurow took 6200 sacks north on Monday. The Wingatui sailed yesterday with a small cargo and it is not expected that the Waipiata, •at the beginning of the week, will take a big cargo. This is allowing the market in the North to steady a little. Values locally remain at £3/10/- on trucks for prompt or May delivery. For May and June £4/17/6 to £5/2/6 f.0.0b.5.i. is quoted, though little is doing at these figures. Onions are still “dead.” Auckland has not resumed buying, and forward sales' are being delivered by the Waipiata. Values are £3/10/-, on trucks.
