Wanganui: N.W. breeze, temp. 66, blue sky, tides good, sea smooth; Wellington: N.N.W. fresh breeze, 65, blue sky; Westport: N.E. light breeze, 59, cloudy, tides high, sea moderate, rain 3pts.; Arthur’s Pass: N.W light breeze, 52, raining, rain 66pts.; Christchurch: Calm, 63, overcast, gloomy; Dunedin: Calm, 58, blue sky, hazy, tides moderate, rain last night; Bluff: Easterly breeze, overcast, raining, tides moderate, sea smooth, heavy rain early this morning. ‘ ‘ WEATHER FORECAST. “The indications are for westerly winds moderate to strong at times; strong to gale, and backing by west to south shortly. The weather appears likely, to be cloudy and unsettled and squally. Rain probable and weather will probably become colder. Barometer rising shortly. Sea rough and tides good.”
