WOMEN FIGHT
CROWD OBSTRUCTS POLICE. SYDNEY, March 13. When Sergeant Reeve and Constable Russel attempted to intervene in a fight between two women in Martinplace last night, they were unable for some time to reach the combatants, owing to a dense crowd of onlookers, who had formed a ring. The disturbance occurred as the theatres were closing, and the curious crowd numbered more than 200. As the police were in plain clothes
their efforts .to break through WGre f6*’ sented by a section of the crowd, and they were forced to threaten some of the obstructionists before they could reach the combatants. It proved to be an ordinary scuffle. Haviffg di« ! vested themselves of surplus clothing, the two combatants fought with .closed fists and some knowledge of the ifle* thods of boxers. They were both arrested and charged subsequently at the Central Police Station, with riotous behaviour.
