TENNIS.

OAMARU, March 23. The annual interprovincial tennis fixture, North Otago v. Otago, was played here to-day, resulting in a win for the visitors by the narrow margin of 253 games to 241 matches, sets being even, 12 and 25 respectively. The visiting men gained ascendancy over the local players, winning five games m the singles and two in the doubles. The home ladies proved superior to the visitors, winning four games in the singles and. three in the doubles, tne mixed doubles finishing witii honours even. SWIMMING CARNIVAL. The final swimming carnival of the season will take place in the Municipal Baths on Thursday next, and will be run under the supervision ot the Greymouth Boxing Association. The proceeds will be devoted to the dependants of the late John Shannahan. All competitors of the previous carnivals will be competing and in all probability Brownlie and party from Nelson Creek will be amongst the contestants. Nominations will close with the Secretary, Mr F. W. Baillie, or Mr W. Gieseking on Tuesday, March 27. The admission will be adults!/-, children 6d.
