Premier Bavin has notified the employees on Walsh Island that it they do not. return to work on Monday on. pre-strike conditions, Cabinet will take steps on. Tuesday to dispose of the enterprise. The Sydney Labour Council has now intervened in the dispute. . The secretary (Mr Garden) says he is hopeful that a settlement will be amicably reached. ASSAULT ON WOMAN. SYDNEY, March 23. The five men, Herbert Wilson, Frederick Payne, Philip Jeffs, Ernest Wilson and Leslie Heath, charged with the Darlington outrage, were committed for trial on the capital charge, after a police court hearing in camera. The Magistrate’s action in excluding the press is universally condemned, many expressing the opinion that the Magistrate was seriously mistaken in conducting such a case behind closed doors.
