The amount of coal, timber, stock, produce, and general merchandise, railed through the Otira Tunnel during the week ended to-day was 9591 tons. This is an increase of 4,035 tons compared with the amount handled for the corresponding period of 1927, when the amount was 5556 tons.

A message from Wellington states that a staff organisation to be known as the Dominion Press Club has been formed by members of the literary, advertising and commercial staffs _ of the Dominion newspaper.
