ELECTION PROGRESS RETURNS. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, March 9. The London County Council elections first results from twenty-four Boroughs and the City of London, shows gains and losses respectively as follow: —Municipal Reform 2 —6, Labour B—4, Liberal 3—3, making the position of the parties in the new Council at present: —Municipal Reform 58, Labour 31, Liberal 5, teompared with the old Council—Municipal Reform 84, Labour 34,. Liberal 6.

The general impression is that the Liberal attempt to regain its former position has failed. The women candidates fared badly. Fourteen are thus far elected, and 34 rejected, out of 65. " Mr. Ramsay MacDonald’s daughter, Ishbel, was successful.at South Poplar. THE FINAL RETURNS. (A.P.A. & Sun.) < LONDON, March 9. The County Council final election results are as follow: —■ Municipal Reformers three gains, ten losses. Labourites, thirteen gains, five losses. Liberals, three gains, four losses. The state of parties is: Reformers seventy-seven, Labourites forty-two. Liberals five. Women members number twenty-one, the total being unchanged. Mr Ramsay MacDonald’s son, Malcolm, topped the poll in the Limehouse division .of Stepney, and joins Ishbel on the County Council.
