‘Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, March 2. A meeting of the Inangahua A. and P. Association was held last evening, when there'was a large attendance. Mr A. B. West was voted to the chair. The Secretary stated that Mr Gebbie had not yet concluded his canvass, but so far he had been exceptionally well received, and had received a large, number of entrants. The Secretary stated that he had also circularised the sawmill hands regarding chopping events, and already a number of entries had been received.

Mr Noble moved that applications by the visiting showmen be declined. Seconded by Mr Patterson and carried.

The Chairman suggested a sub-com-mittee of Messrs Patterson and Pascoe be appointed to deal with the application by the merry-go-round proprietor. The Secretary reported on the picture benefit given by Mr Cereseto. This showed a net profit of £7. A resolution of thanks to Mr Cereseto was carried unanimously. A letter from Mr W. D. Murray accepted the position of judge of flowers and produce section. From Mr Herb Moore, Greymouth, accepting the position of judge of cooking sections ; from Mr Mullan (Darfield) declining the position of judge of sheep and pigs, owing to previous engagements. It was decided to communicate with Mr A. J. Palmer (Rotomanu) on this matter. The train arrangements were discussed and considered satisfactory.

Mr Baird reported that arrangements for the local side shows were well in hand, and he asked authority for a small expenditure. They expected to have four side-shows in operation. All that was required was more hands to conduct proceedings. Authority was given for the expenditure required, also to purchase goods for the side-shows.

Tenders were received for the publican’s booth from Miss W'ilson and A. Downey for the sweets stall, and these were accepted. The Secretary was instructed to render an account to the County Council for the donations voted and so far not received by. the Association.

Messrs F. Keating, J. B. Discaciati, F. Baird and Gebbie were appointed as canvassers for the town on Saturday. The Chairman extended a welcome to new members in Messrs C. Dobson and A. McElwee, and hoped for their assistance at the Show.
