ALL-EMPIRE TELEPHONY MARCONI’S PREDICTION (A.P.A. & Sun.) (By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, Feb. 24. Marconi, interviewed, predicted sensational developments in wireless Within two ox’ three years. He said: “Wireless has now immeasurably a greater horizon than previously. The renewed possibilities point to a changed world. I am certain there will soon be telephonic communication with all the Dominions but full' Imperial development depends * largely on the attitude of the Government on which . rests the scheme’s delay or encouragement. Development of facsimile transmission, whereby whole sheets of manuscript cau be transmitted in the original form will ultimately succeed morse, because it will be quicker and cheaper.” ...... r.
Referring to the secrecy of wireless, he said that the cryptograph amounted almost to a secret system, in which -the receiving instruments sorted out an apparently meaningless jximble of words. Referring to the wireless conference he said: “The value of cables in the past, has been very great but I hesitate to express an opinion as to their future.”* ‘
