WAIROA—FIRST DAY (Pei; Press Association.) WAIROA, Jan. 17. The first day of the Wairoa Racing Club’s races was held in beautiful weather. The course ’ was good and there was a large attendance. Results: Trial Handicap, 6 furlongs—2 King Willonyx 1, 4 Tan 2, 5 Sun Yat Sen 3. Also started: Cherry Girl, Molong, Ni.ght Nurse, Calithe, Mangahuru. Time: 1.16.
