This game should prove interesting as to whether the Lanks can have a victory over the Geordie clan. A noted footballer of this district wishes to celebrate his win off the GeeGees, which went into three figures, and is holding a social evening, and intends to invite his many friends next Friday evening at his residence. Messrs Bowes, Heslin, Brown and Munson are expected to arrive home by Tuesday’s exuress from Christchurch, where they have been taking part in the New Zealand bowling tournament. Messrs Southward and Rae arrived home by car, having enjoyed themselves at the tournament. The Convent euchre tournament began last Saturday night for the commencement of the ensuing year, about eighty persons being present. The prize winners were Master A. Gilligham 1, Mr T, E. Kennedy 2.
