GREYMOUTH v. RUNANGA

A team of four rinks from the Runanga Bowling Club met a Greymouth team on Saturday afternoon on the Greymouth green to contest the Reynolds Badges. The Greymouth teams, the holders, proved victorious by a margin of 49 points, the scores being (Greymouth team's mentioned first in each rink): — Bettell, Baldwin, Steele, Mercer (s) 37, v. Kroening, Unwin, Armstrong, Leach (s) 19. Bunt, McNaughton, Graham, Miller (s) 27, v. Halliday, Radcliffe, Southward, Rae (s) 18. Leitch, Moss, Holmes, Fletcher (s) 23, v. Swallow, Boote, Barnes, Brown (s) 23.

Kettle, Doogan, F. Kilgour, Carey (s) 31, v. Bowes, Devine, Heslin Munson (s) 9.

Colts’ Rink—Morrison, Moore, Larsen, Wild (s) 17, v. Pope, Marshall, Graham, Syme (s) 13. Carey’s rink, having won by the greatest margin, will be the holders of the badges, meanwhile.

Mr. Munson, President of the Runanga Club thanked the Grey Club for the privilege given them for again playing for the badges and for the afternoon tea which was greatly appreciated.

Mr. Bettell, on behalf of the Greymouth Club, suitably replied. Three hearty cheers were given for the ladies.

In view of the West Coast tournament, the committee will have to take in hand at once the caring of the green, which shows signs of the grass grub. Three of the rinks on Saturday were most unsatisfactory.
