1928 HARLEY-DAVIDSON

The 1928 model 2| Harley-Davidson has arrived in Greymouth, and motor cyclists are invited to inspect this model at James and Yorwarth’s, Greymouth agents. All the well known features of the Harley-Davidson are evident, ease of steering, riding comfort, the tried and proved H.D. ignition and electric light system positively water-proof. The latest additions include an automatic oiler controlled from the throttle control, a new front hub brake, an automatic air cleaner attached to the carburettor to prevent dirt getting into the machinery. The Harley-Davidson is the first mo-tor-cycle to have this fitting. The front wheel brake is a new fitting so far as the Harley-Davidson’s are concerned. It is a wonderfully good job, built in as part of the machine. The old cast iron pistons have been discarded for magnesium alloy pistons, giving the! engine quicker acceleration and longer life. Shorter pitched chains and correspondingly smaller sprockets are another recent change. This gives greater flexibility to the chains and ensures longer life. Altogether it is a splendid job, and with all these improvements, is a cheaper motorcycle than any previous Harley-David-son of this model. Inspection is invited. —A.D.
