This was .seconded by Mr Mclnroe and carried. The Matron, Reefton Hospital, was empowered to obtain articles required for the Qld People’s Home and the Matron’s room.

Tenders for transport of patients from Waiuta to Reefton were opened as follows :-r-R. M. Hempseed tendered* fbr transport of patients from Waiuta to Ikaniatua at £2 12/0; Twoomey’s White Star motors tender was £3 10/- for transport of patient to Reefton and £1 10/- extra if required to take the matron back to Waiuta. Mr Mclnroe moved that the tender of Twomey’s White Star motors be accepted, on the understanding that a nurse be taken from Reefton and thus obviate the necessity of the matron being returned to Waiuta. Mr O’Regan moved that the original tender be reverted to, namely £3 9/-. This was not seconded. Mr Byrne referred to the service during the past being satisfactory.
