AUSTRALIAN MURDERS

DEMENTED MOTHER’S CRIME

BRISBANE, August 31.

In a demented state, a woman at Breakfast Creek, Brisbane, is believed to have attacked her husband and two children,' cutting their throats with a razor, while they were asleep in the early morning. Then she cut her own throat. A girl of eight months died. A boy was seriously injured, but the husband and wife were only slightly hurt.

PERTH, August 31.

Evan Clark, who was concerned in the murders of the two detectives at Kalgoorlie last year, has, by the judgment of the High Court been granted £lOOO for the information given by him leading to the conviction of the murderers.

DEATH., SENTENCE PASSED

SYDNEY, August 31.

McPherson was found guilty to-day of the murder of Martha Quin. He was sentenced to death.
