DOMINION OILFIELDS GISBORNE, August 23. Taranaki Oil Fields Ltd. reports:Waiapu: No. 2 well, depth 2050 feet, in grey shale, caving in badly, making about 50 gallons of water per hour. 8J inch diameter casing to 2040 feet. Gisborne: No. 2 well, depth 430 feet, alternate beds of sand and shale, soft grey sand and sandstone from 400 feet, mking 100 gallons of water per hour, 12J iiich diameter casing, landed at 372 feet.
