Grey Electric Power Board notify consumers that power will be cut off in all districts to-morrow (Sunday), from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. A ball in aid of the funds of the Ahaura Library will be held in the Memorial Hall on Friday, August 26. Gas consumers are reminded that accounts must be paid by Monday next to save the discount. - A meeting will be held on Monday afternoon at the Town Hall at 4 o’clock for the purpose of making arrangements to hold a shopping week, commencing on Thursday, September 1. The success which attended last year’s effort warrants a full attendance of all interested in the progress of the town. The idea is to hold shopping week during the competitions and to arrange for excursion fares to and from Greymouth. Last year’s varied programme will be submitted to the meeting together with several new ideas A day of Intercession will be held in the Salvation Army Hall to-morrow, when requests will be taken to a prayer—answering God.
