KUMARA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent;.) Mr John Nolan of Tui Street, who has not enjoyed the best of health for some time, underwent a serious operation at the West land Hospital during the week. The operation was successful and the patient is progressing. Mr. James McDairmid, of the Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, who has been on a. visit to his parents, returned this morning. The annual Memorial Hall Ball takes place at Kumara, on Tuesday, August 2. This event is looked forward to with considerable interest by dancing enthusiasts, and. as on previous occasions, should prove n most successful turn out. Ross’s orchestra will supply the music, and an efficient M.C. will be in charge of the floor. The Postmaster, Mr W. Roxburgh, who has been absent on holiday, resumes duly on Tuesday next. There is a lot of sickness in Kumara at the present time, both old and young being smitten with influenza.
