PACIFIC CABLE BOARD

CHAIRMANSHIP REFUSED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 21. The “Daily News” states that. Mr. Campbell Stuart has refused the appointment of Chairman of the Pacific Cable Board. He has done so on the ground that his other activities on the Board will take up all his time; but it will be remembered that Mr. Campbell Stuart, with his Canadian colleague, opposed the recent duplication of the Pacific, urging the wireless system instead. Mr. Campbell Stuart remains a member of the Board.
