FIRE OUTBREAKS
— — CHURCH ORGAN DESTROYED (Per Press Association.' DUNEDIN, June 11. Fire at St. John’s Anglican Church, Roslyn totally destroyed the pipe organ, which will cost about £l5OO to replace. The insurances on the building and organ total £2,600. The origin of the outbreak is said to have been a painter’s blow-lamp.
SHIPPING STORE ABLAZE. MELBOURNE, June 11. Fire in the store of Howard Smith and Company. Shipowners, North Wharf Road, caused damaged estimated to exceed ten thousand pounds. . Two employees discovered the fire early, but were unable to raise the local telephone exchange, to notify the fire brigade for fifteen mniutes. Meantime, the fire gained a strong hold.
