The Egmont Racing Club’s Winter concluded to-day in showery weather* before a large attendance. The track was soft. The totalisator handled £17,592 as against £23,638 on the corresponding day of the previous year, the total for the meeting being £34,823 a decrease of £10,020 as against the previous year. The Kentucky Derby was won by H. P. Whitney’s Whiskery Jo, E. Widner’s Osmand being second and E. B. McLean’s Jock third. Time for the mile and a-quarter was 3min. 26secs. The race was worth fifty-one thousand dollars to the winner.
