It was disclosed by further evidence at the trial of Zaniboni on the charge of attempting to assassinate Signor Mussolini, that the police were kept fully informed of the plot of Zaniboni through an agent, whose information led to the arrest of Zaniboni before he was able to carry out his intentions. A chauffeur deposed that he had a fast motor car, with provisions, ready, in which Zaniboni intended to escape after the shooting.
