MAGISTRATE FINED
SIXTH MOTORING CONVICTION,
LONDON, Jan. 28.
The stipendiary magitsarte for the North London Police Court, Mr. Ivan Edward Snell, of Sussex Square, W., was fined £4 at Kingston County Police Court for exceeding the speed limit on the Portsmouth Road at Cobham on November 28. It was stated that there were five previous convictions against Mr. Snell for offences under the Motor Car Act between 1911 and 1924, the last being for exceeding the speed limit.
Police-Sergeant Hatcher said Mr. Snell was travelling at just over 40 miles an hour. 9
Mr. Snell wrote regretting his inability to be present, owing to his duties at the North London Police Court, and added: “I admit driving the motor car at a speed greater than 20 miles an hour. I know as a fact that I was travelling at 32 miles an hour during a small portion of the measured distance. For the remainder it was 30 miles an hour.”
