Mr L. W. Walker arrived in Reefton last evening from Feilding.
Mr and Mrs J. Lewis, Alexander Street, left to-day on a holiday trip to Waimate and Timaru.
MrJ. McNair, District Engineer for Railways returned to-day to Christchurch.
Mrs Con. O’Neil, who has been visiting Mrs M. Keating, returned to-day to Christchurch.
Mr and Mrs J. Meagher formerly of Dobson, left this morning, for Christchurch en route for Sydney.
Mr J. E. Cull, Designing Engineei' to the Public Works Department at Wellington, is visiting the West Coast.
Mrs R. Parkinson, who has been visiting relatives in Greymouth, returned to-day to Lyttelton.
Sir Tom Bridges, Governor of South Australia, accompanied by Lady Bridges, left Sydney for New Zealand yesterday.
Mr. P. Nightingale (Nelson) who has been attending the funeral of the late Mrs. Wm. McKay, will return tomorrow.
Messrs W. Nicholson and A. Russell of Christchurch, who attended the funeral of the late Mrs. W. McKay in Hokitika, returned this morning.
Mr J. L. Leydon, auditor for the Railway Stores Department, who has been on a visit to Westland, left for Christchurch this morning.
Mr W. H. Winsor, Secretary of the Canterbury Builders’ Association, who has been visiting the West Coast, returned to-day to Christchurch.
Mr Horace Smith (representing C. Smith Ltd.) Wellington, is visiting Greymouth, and is the guest of Mr and Mrs R. Smith, Kilgour Road.
Professor A. J. Grant, of Leeds University, left for New Zealand yesterday to go to Canterbury College. He is the first Englishman to exchange chairs with a New Zealand Professor.
Miss Sarah McDonnell, Postmistress, Totara Flat, is at present on annual leave, and is being relieved by Mr R. Ashley, from the Chief Post Office, Gr.eymouth.
Messrs J. Bishop, Consulting Engineer, and G. Stitt, director of the Brunner Collieries Ltd., who have been visiting the mine at Wallsend. returned to Auckland this morning.
Mr D. W. Costello (representing Simonds Steel and Saw Coy., America), accompanied by Mrs Costello and Mrs W. Gale, who are motoring on the West Coast, left for South Westland yesterday.
The death occurred at Otorohanga o£ Mr Charles Holdaway, aged 73, a former Ballance pioneer, and an active well-known identity in connection with various institutions in the early cays of Ballance settlement.
