WEDDING

KENNEDY—CAVANAGH, At the Catholic Cathedral (Christchurch) the marriage' was solemnised on Monday of Annie, eldest daughter of the late Mr F. Cavanagh and of Dlrs Cavanagh, St. Albans, and Martin, fourth son of Mr and Mrs P. Kennedy, Totara Flat, West Coast. The Rev. Father O’Regan performed the ceremony, and Miss O’Connor was organist, and Mr Tasker was best man-

The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr J. Cavanagh, wore an attractive frock of ivory georgette, cut on simple lines and effectively beaded. Her ’ embroidered tulle veil was arranged becomingly to form a coronet, and she carried a bouquet of white and palest pink flowers. Her sister, Miss Sabina Cavanagh, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of pervenche blue crepe de chine with georgette sleeves and bands of shirred at the low waist line. Her crinoline hat was of the same effective shade, and she carried a bouquet of mauve and cream flowers. After the religious ceremony, Mrs Cavanagh held a reception at Dixieland, where Christmas lilies and roses were used with excellent decorative effect. The hostess wore a smart navy repp frock and hat to match. Mrs Kennedy’s travelling dress was of bois de rose silk marocain with bolero effect in front, and her small black hat had touches of bois de rose ribbon.
