—— REVIVAL OF DRUIDS. (Special to “Star.”) WESTPORT. December 6. The Buller district Druids had i busy time on Saturday night. The Westport Royal Arch Chapter met past officers being present from W est post, Denniston and Millerton. The meeting was most enthusiastic re garding the future functioning of the Chapter, which has had a quiet time in the past, owing to lack of support of past officer.- of various lodges. Brothel Shanks was appointed delegate to the conference at Palmerston North next March. A resolution expressing sympathy with the relatives of the unfortunate men who lost their lives in the Dobson mine was carried in silence, all standing. Past Arch Bro. Bradley was presented with a collar diploma, and a motion of appreciation of his twelve months’ services was placed on record. Past Grand President Tennent (Greymouth) notified that the official visit was postponed on account of the bad state of- the roads, but would probably eventuate early in the New Year. Members adjourned to spend a social evening, Bro. Ashton presiding. Numerous appropriate toasts were honoured, and a fine programme of vocal, musical and elocutionary items rendered. It is expected that the result of these meetings will be an appreciable revival of interest in Druidism in the Buller district. SENIOR CRICKET. In the senior cricket match on Saturday, Waimangaroa v. Rivals, an interesting position arose at - the finish. The country team had a good lead, but the town boys endeavoured to play out time. The last man came in on tim4 with only one ball in the over left. The bowler failed to get the batsman and the game ended in a draw. CYCLING TRACK. Cyclists and enthusiasts of the local athletic clubs are putting in great work on the cycling track at Victoria Square, widening and banking the bends. When completed, it will make a great improvement, eliminating the risk of accidents. It will be in excellent condition for the Jubilee. meeting on Deceriiber 29. i ••
