RUNANGA v. HOKITIKA U A return match for the Reynolds badges between Hokitika (holders) and Runanga Clubs was played on the. latter’s green on Saturday afternoon. The weather was perfect, with the result that a most interesting game was played. Messrs F. Heslin, President of the: Runanga Club and Mr. H. Thompson,, President of the Hokitika Club, spoke: of the disaster that had befallen. Dobson, and moved a vote of condolence and sympathy to the bereaved, which was carried in silence. Mr. Heslin welcomed the visitors, and hoped the game would be most enjoyable. The visits of sister clubs would be of great benefit aid help to keep for one another, the feeling of good fellowship. The following were the scores (Runanga rinks being mentioned first):— Bowes, Cooke, Brown, Armstrong (s) 25, Cooke, Bruce, Sherman, Benjamin (s) 12. Unwin, Heslin, Munson, Leach (s) 12, Adams, /Smith, Thompson, Hayward (s) 24. .. tt „ - Halliday, Currie, Warburton, Rae, (s) 16, King, Ward, Lakin, Wilson, W. Afternoon tea and dainty refreshments were provided by the ladies. Mr. Thompson proposed a vote of thanks to them for their . splendid repast, which was carried with three hearty-cheers. Mr. Hayward of the Hokitika Club, who had been a member of the Canterbury Club, for many years past, congratulated the caretaker and : members of the Runanga green on the manner in which they had cared for the green which, he said, was ettual to any he. had played on.
