Meldrum, S.M., for interfering with a trolley and shifting the points of the railway lines on the wharf on September 26. Detective March prosecuted, and Mr W. J. Joyce appeared on behalf of the boys. Phillip Newburn, goods foreman, stated that a number of mysterious derailments had taken place on the wharf recently, and, when he saw the boys running the trolley along tlie lines, and found that the points had been interfered with, he considered' it his duty to take the names of the boys and report the matter. The trolley was used by the Harbour Board and was not locked, or secured in any way.. Mr Joyce commented that, as trouble had been occurring, it was peculiar that the Harbour Board had not been asked to do something to prevent the trolley being used. Had the trolley been properly secured, the trouble would never have occurred. The Magistrate warned the boys that any further offences would be treated seriously. ,
