WELLINGTON MATCHES. (Per Press Association.) . WELLINGTON, December 5. Yesterday’s senior cricket results were: Y.M.C.A., playing against Varsity, batted first for 137 (White 35, Grant 28, Henderson 25). Bowling for Varsity, Vietmeyer took 5 for 25, and Hollings 5 for 52. Varsity in the first innings lost 1 for 104 (Hollings not out 61, McLaren 21). In the Old Boys v. Institute game, the latter in the first innings lost 8 for 303 (D. Burt 130, H. Foley 129). In the game between Thom don and Kilbirnie, the former made 254 (Ellerm 68, E. Foley 46,. Mason 36, Wilson 30). Bowling for Kilbirnie, Badcock took 6 for 69, and Holz 2 for 49. Playing Petone, Hutt in the first innings made 130 (Tattersail 27, Nunn not out 23, McLeod 18). Bowling for Petone, Brice took 4 for 35, and Reyling 4 for 80. Petone lost three for 21. In the Midland v. Wellington game, the former in the first innings made 289 (Baker 80, Purvey 61, Hutchings 50, Doneghue 47). Bowling for Wellington, Hiddlestone took 4 for 71. Wellington lost no wickets for 52 (Hiddlestone not out 38, Avery not out W). TARANAKI v. WANGANUI, WANGANUI, December 4. For the Hawke Cup match this morning there was fine weather, with a strong wind. Wanganui made a poor ptand, all being out for 63—Orr 12, Bemau 21, Treadwell 10, being the only ones to score. Clark took six wickets for 17. At 2.30 Taranaki had lost 5 for 117 (Naismith not out 55, Grayson 17, Bottrell 17, Cole not out 10). AUCKLAND RESULTS. The grade cricket was continued yesterday in fine weather on batsmen’s wickets. For Glebe against Randwick, Gray made 103 not out; for Northern Districts against Waverley, Loder made 97 ; for Waverley Levy made 113, for Balmain, against University, Wheatley scored 104, and for University Hogg scored 150; for Western Suburbs against Mosman, Johnston scored 158; for St. George against Petersham, Bradman made 110 and Targett (not out) 150. The weather was .cloudy and sultry, and the wicket was good. Richardson opened very cautiously, but later, in partnership with .Schneider, who was stonewalling, he opened out and runs came quickly. Schneider gave an excellent display, and broke the back of the Victorian bowling before he was dismissed. He batted for four hours.
