(Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) BUSH FIRES. SYDNEY, December 1. Bush fires continue to rage in many parts of the State, and are taking toll of the crops and valuable fodder. Telephone communication with some places on the North Coast is cut off. Around Armidale, ’the farmers are having an anxious time. The outbreaks are being subdued, after hours of hard fighting. At Casino a sawmill valued at £50,000 was destroyed. BRITISH FILMS. MELBOURNE, December 1. In the Assembly, during the consideration of the Censorship of Films Bill, a clause was agreed to providing that at each motion picture performance, at least two thousand feet of film of British manufacture, must be exhibited, exclusive of advertising matter. It was further agreed that at least a thousand feet of that quota must be film produced in Australia. TENTERFIELD INQUEST. ’ SYDNEY, December 1. At the inquests on the deaths of the Milton family at Tenterfield, the corqndr found that the wife and three children were murdered by Milton, and that the latter committed suicide. , LATER. ■ At the Milton inquest, a girl giving evidence, said that the day before the tragedy she and her father had an interview with Milton. She told him he was the father of her child, which ■vyas born on November 5, and she was going to take proceedings against him. . Milton denied everything. He was very nervous and trembling.
