The headquarters will be in London, and the service will extend over the Empire. SYDNEY, Nov. 29. Crane employees at Newcastle decided to strike as a protest against the action of the Railway Commissioners in serving notice of dismissal on 86 crane employees. The Union’s action will have the effect of completely crippling the shipping trade of the port, and within a week, forcing the management of nearly every colliery on the. northern fields to shut down the mines. The dismissal of the crane employees is' due to the operation of the no overtime strike of the coal trimmers, ceasing work at four o’clock in the afternoon, instead of working twenty-four- hours daily. There is not sufficient work to justify the retention of the services of the crane drivers.
