A writ, claiming £lOOO for alleged defamation of character has been issued on behalf of William Victor Sanvig, salesman, and formerly police constable of Christchurch The claim is against Mr William Bernard Mcllveney, Commissioner of Police. The ground of the claim is the alleged defamatory statement printed in the New Zealand “Police Gazette,” relating to plaintiff’s resignation from the police force.
