All Saints’ Church, Hokitika, was the scene of a quiet, but . pretty wedding on Thursday last, when May, only daughter of Mr Robert Adamson the Southern runholder, was married to Frederick Arthur, third son of Mr Geo. Paiument, Kumara. Miss Constance Pamment, sister of the bridegroom was bridesmaid, whilst Mr VV. Leslie acted as best man.. Alter the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride. Mr and Mrs Painment left later for the North Island where the honeymoon will be spent. Miss Eileen Murdoch, whose success at the recent Auckland - -Elocutionary Competitions was chronicled in the “Star” last evening, is a native of Kumara, and received her primary education at the Kumara Phblio School. . . - > -■ , Mr William Routhan. ot Waimte, whilst working itti the Hohonu Sluicing Coy’s claim on Friday, had the misfortune to break his ankle. . The funeral of the late Mrs J. Rochford, Dillmans, took place yesterday, and was largely attended- The Rev. Father Finnerty officiated at the graveside.
