BRUNNER BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Brunner Borough Council mei last evening; present: The Mayoi (Mr. Williams), Crs; Carse, Smeaton Chetwynd and Morgan. Cr. Smeaton moved that the lettei from the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding objection to polls of electors be received. —Seconded by Cr Chetwynd and carried. Cr. Smeaton moved that the lettei regarding dangerous goods, be left in the hands of the Clerk, to supply the necessary information. —Seconded by Cr. C'arsq and carried. The Mayor moved that the action ol the Clerk, in answering correspondence, be endorsed. —Seconded by Cr Carse and carried. Cr. Smeaton moved that the mattei of supplying the Grey Electric Power Board with copies of certified rolls of rate-payers, be left in the hands of Cr. Carse and the Clerk. —Seconded by Cr. Morgan and carried. Cr. Smeaton moved that the Clerk supply the necessary information to the Insurance Company.—Seconded

by Cr. Chetwynd and carried. The Mayor moved that the overseer’s reports be accepted as satisfactory.— Seconded by Cr. Smeaton and carried. Cr. Carse moved that the lorry and two of the workmen be dispensed with after two days’ more work. —Seconded by Cr. Morgan and carried. Cr. Smeatoir moved that the Clerk make inquiries about several of the accounts that had been received. —Seconded by Cr. Carse and carried. Cr. Carse moved that the Clerk write to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for statement of th? Council’s position with them. —Seconded by Cr. Smeaton and carried. Accounts amounting to £59, were passed for payment. Cr. Chetwynd moved that a special meeting be held on Monday, September 27.—Seconded by Cr. Morgan and carried.
