The Board decided to support the Christchurch Fire Board’s representation to the Minister of Internal Affairs, to introduce legislation making the penalty for persons giving malicious false fire alarms imprisonment without ijlie option of. fines. Accounts amounting to £ll6 were passed for payment. The estimated expenditure for the year ending June, 1927, is £570, allocated as follow -Insurance Companies £260, Borough Council £260, N.Z. Government £5O. This shows a reduction of £6O on last year’s figures.
