The first day of the Napier Park Racing Club’s Winter Meeting was held in ideal weather. The totalisator handled £12,110 against £9,877 on the first day last year, an increase of £2233. Remaining results : — Ladies’ Handicap.—2 Hillation (Mr G. Green) 1, 4 Arch Salute 2, 1 Brigadier Bill. Also ran: 3 Royal Diadem, 5 Peshwa, 8 Grey Lady, 9 Red Cent, 11 Blackflier, 7 Revel, 10 Mint Julep, 6 Polyastra. Won by half a length. Royal Diadem won by three parts of a length from Hillation, but was disqualified for weighing in short. Time 2.12 2-5.
