Mrs T. Adkins, Elmer Lane, left this morning on a trip to Christchurch.
A Sydney cablegram announced the death ‘of the Rev. Harold Wheen, a prominent Methodist, aged 58.
Mrs W. Lane and'Mr A. Jack, who have been attending the funeral of their mother at Hokitika, returned this morning to Christchurch.
Mr W. Mcßride, Provincial Grand Master of the' Masonic Lodge in Canterbury, died at Timaru on Thursday, aged 50 years.
Mr and Mrs ' Johnston, of Barry - town, and Mrs Poschich, who have been spending a holiday in Nelson, will return to-day.

The death of Mr William Ernest Lutz, a former Cobden resident, ana brothei- of Mr Jules A. Lutz, formerly of Greymouth, now of Wellington, took place, at his residence at Wellington on Monday last. He was for many years in the butchery business at Cobden. He retired and , moved to Wellington in 1903.
