Mr arid Mrs Eric Lyons left to-day for Dunedin?. Mr and Mrs J t M. Bunt left yesterday by car for Christchurch and Dunedin. ; ' ‘ Mr and Mrs B. Winchester left this morning on a holiday trip to Dunedin. i■ ■ ' ' i Miss Daisy Furness left by this morning’s 1 express for a holiday at Dunedin and Sydney. ' Messrs E. S. Luttrell and Thos. Armstrong, who have been visiting Greymouth, returned to-day to Christ•dutrch. Mr B. R. Sword, Assistant Divisional Superintendent for Canterbury and Westland Railways, arrived in Greymouth on Saturday afternoon. ■/. ■ Ex-Inspector W. Cruickshank, formerly in charge of the West Coast Police District, who has been visiting Greymouth, left to-day for Christchurch. Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, senr., Marton, formerly stationed at Greymoutli, who has been visiting Mr R. H. Richmond, BuccJeugh Street, returned to-day by express. Mr H. Baldwin, Inspector of Machinery, 1 from the Head Office, Wellington, who has been visiting Greymouth on departmental business, returned by Saturday’s express. Mr E. Browne, formerly of the staff of McGfuer’s Ltd., who is leaving shortly to take a position in Sydney, was presented by his fellow-workers, on Saturday, with a wristlet watch.
Mr and Mrs Harry Brie.stadt, Ruru, left by to-day’s express for the Du!nedin "Exhibition, and a tour of th* Southern Lakes. They expect to be absent about a month. '
Mrs A. H. Carey, Cowper Street, vno is an-inmate of the Grey Hospital, from the-result of a fall from a win. <dow at her residence last, Friday, is making good progress.
-Mr Henry Bateson, formerly of the literary,staff of the “Dominion.” and later of the Sydney and Brisbane staffs of “Truth,” has been appointed managing-editor of “New. Zealand Truth.”
The Rotary Conference,,at Dunedin, chose Mr Peter Barr, of Dunedin, as Governor-elect. The Conference pre; sented a.-piece of plate to Rotaliah George -Fowlds in recognition of his services to Rotary. .-
Mr and Mils Arthur Wylde, of Waimana, Bay, of Plenty, are at present on. the Coast; having returned from the Dunedin Exhibition. They are the guests of relatives in Greymouth 'and Runanga. They were present at the Kurnara -Jubilee, and leave to-morrow for a trip to' the Franz Josef Glacier. Mr Charlie Wylde, who was also a member of the party, left for Waimana last Saturday.
