INCOME TAXATION

HOMELAND TRADERS’ PROTEST lAubU&liau and N.Z. Cable Aaaociatton.j LONDON,, March 5. The Associated British Chambers of Commerce, after considering representations from various Chambers in regard to income tax now levied by the Governments o’f certain Dominions, namely, it is understood, Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand, upon British manufacturers through their agents, carried a resolution expressing the opinion that such taxation, if insisted upon, will .seriously handicap the development of Empire trade, and trusting that His Majesty’s Government will arrange for this important question to be discussed at the forthcoming imperial Conference with a view to a common policy being adopted throughout the Empire. A copy of the resolution is to be sent to Mr Baldwin, Mr Amery, and Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister.
