“TAGS” AND TRADING.

DANNEVIRKE, January 28.

At a special- meeting of the Dannevirke Power Board, the question of the Auditor General’s “tag” to the balance-sheet disqualifying Messrs Chadwick and Ellingham, members of the' Board, was further considered. The Chairman, Mr. E. A. -Ransome, M.l’.', reported that Mr. T. F. Martin, solicitor for the Electric Power Boards’ -Association, since the previous meeting, had advised that he is still of the same opinion as in May last, that Messrs Chadwick and Ellingham are not debarred from sitting on the Board by virtue of being trustees in air estate which possessed shares in a firm with which the Board had transactions.

The Chairman said he had interviewed the Auditor General, who said he would go fully into the matter before giving a final decision, advising that, in the meantime the members concerned had better refrain from sitting. It was decided to defer action until the Auditor General’s decision has been received.
